#10 Christmas Cortisol - Stress and Diabetes

Or, how to stay diabetic while doing almost everything right.

A Very Happy New Year!

A Good Time for a Fresh Start. Make 2026 Your Non-diabetic year. I dare you.

I hope you and yours have had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and that the year ahead is full of joy, success and personal best HbA1cs.

It’s our 10th issue of the newsletter and we’ve covered a lot of ground. I wanted to start the newsletters off with ‘the basics’ and cover some core physiology, key issues in diabetes reversal, and look at some of the less common topics (like alcohol and sleep). This issue completes that, talking about stress and how it can undermine, or completely block, your progress.

From issue 11 onwards, I will be changing to a shorter, weekly pattern in your inbox every Tuesday. Each week, I will look closely at one or two main topics, discuss emerging as well as classic research, share practical tips and do my best to keep you motivated and on the right course. Similar content and style, only shorter and more often.

NB: I went a little longer than expected in this one. If it clips off the end in your inbox, click “Read Online” to see the full newsletter.

Right, let’s jump into the slightly misunderstood world of cortisol.
